Madonna should persuade court, not public, says adoption official

London, March 21: Madonna should focus on persuading Malawian courts and not the public, if she wishes to adopt another child from the African country, a government official has said.

The Queen of Pop had recently confirmed that she was planning to adopt a second child from the region after making little David Banda a part of her family in 2006.

"It`s something I have been considering, but would only do if I had the support of the Malawian people and the Government,” the Daily star quoted her as previously telling the country`s Nation newspaper.

"Many people - especially our Malawian friends - say that David should have a Malawian brother or sister.

“It is a big priority for me to educate my son about the world, but always to stay connected to his Malawian culture," she added.

However, Cyrus Jeke, a spokesman for the Ministry of Child and Women Development, revealed that the singer would have to do more than that.

He said: "It`s not pre-conceived. A high court judge must be convinced about the adoption.”

Madge is PETA`s ‘Worst Dressed Celebs of `09’

Washington, March 06: Queen of pop Madonna has topped the list of the "worst dressed" celebrities of 2009 by animal rights group PETA.

The Material girl was followed by Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Mary J Blige and Kate Moss.

"When you see Madonna in fur, you realize why nobody has copied her style since 1984," Usmagazine.com quoted PETA as saying in a statement.

Taking a dig at Madonna’s link-up with Brazilian model Jesus Luz, the group said, "We know that she`s on the prowl for a young cub, but someone needs to tell Madge that wearing fur doesn``t make you a cougar."

Other celebrities that made it to PETA’s list are Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kanye West and Elizabeth Hurley.

Ex-flame Jose Canseco slams Madonna for ‘dating’ toyboy

Washington, Mar 04: Madonna`s former beau Jose Canseco has slammed the singer for going out with her alleged 28-year-junior lover.

The baseball ace revealed he is yet to digest the reports that the Queen of Pop was allegedly romancing 22-year-old model Jesus Luz.

"Oh my God! Doesn`t she realise she is 60 years old? Come on!” Contactmusic quoted him as telling Us magazine.

"When she is 80, what is she going to date - a guy who is 10 years old? It`s getting crazy!" he added.

Previously, Oscar-winner Sean Penn was also believed to have taken a dig at his former wife Madonna when the two crossed paths at an after-show party.

The 48-year-old was congratulated by the Queen of Pop, who went public with ‘her’ Brazillian toyboy at a bash after splitting with Guy Ritchie in January.

The Sun had reported, gesturing towards Luz, Penn said: "Thanks. Another kid already?"
