Tobey Maguire plays down Spider-Man film "delay"

Tobey Maguire has assured fans that that the release date of the latest Spider-Man movie would not be compromised following reports of delay.

The actor made the revelation after Sony studios sources claimed production on Spider-Man 4, due to hit theatres in February, had been stalled over script issues.

"Like anything, it’s a process. We’re just in the midst of the process,” a news daily quoted him as saying.

“We have a lot of great stuff in terms of story and script. We’re just trying to dial it in and get it ready as quickly as possible.

"Of course, these movies are a very big undertaking and take a lot more time than a drama or something more straightforward," he added.

Melanie Chisholm confession of using former bandmate Victoria Beckham

Former Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm has confessed that she uses former bandmate Victoria Beckham`s name to book tables at restaurants.

The 35-year-old singer has no qualms in admitting that the fashion designer, married to soccer ace David Beckham, is more famous than her, a news daily reported.

"I still can`t always get a table in restaurants.

Although I do have a trick up my sleeve. I always say Victoria Beckham is coming when I book. There is always a table free then," said Chisholm.

While she remains friends with Victoria and the rest of the group - Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown and Emma Bunton - she admitted that they don`t always get on when they go out together.

"To be honest, when we first split I didn`t see the other girls for a couple of years. Then we began calling each other, and when we did the reunion tour we rediscovered how close we really are. And motherhood has mellowed all of us. We still fight, but usually after a few too many drinks," said Chisholm.

Pop diva Britney Spears is so obsessed with her looks that she doesn’t even workout without her make up.

The ‘Toxic’ singer was seen all decked up running on a treadmill and doing crunches at the Mondrian Hotel in Hollywood along with her mother, who used dumbbells, reports the New York Post.

According to a witness, Spears worked up such a sweat, "she looked like Heath Ledger as the Joker".

The 28-year-old beauty has also changed her blonde hair into brunette.

She tried to sneak into the hotel unnoticed, but unfortunately even with her new hair colour she was easily recognized.

Jim Carrey reveals the secret

Funnyman Jim Carrey has revealed that he used to throw himself down the stairs during Christmas to prove to his family that he was a budding comedy great.
According to The Sun, the Bruce Almighty star, 47, did different characters to prove his incredible talent, reports The Daily Telegraph.

He said: "Christmas was where I started coming into my own as a performer.

Jim, born in Ontario, Canada, added: "All the relatives would storm our house because it was the Jim Carrey show.

"I was a kid, but I’d throw myself down stairways and do all kinds of characters. That’s how I got popular in my family."

Homosexual Holmes, Watson in sequel, is it

Hollywood actor Robert Downey Jr, who plays the lead in British filmmaker Ritchie`s new movie adaption, has hinted at a homo erotic twist between his character and sidekick Dr Watson in a seqeul to the movie.

The executors of the character` creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle`s literary estate are however miffed at the plan and have threatened to withdraw Ritchie`s rights to the "Sherlock Holmes" story if the director hints at a homosexual relationship between the lead characters in his sequel, reports contactmusic.com.

Downey, Jr., who plays the super sleuth in the new movie adaption, recently appeared on David Letterman`s US talk show and hinted at a same sex subtext in the relationship between his character and Jude Law`s Dr. Watson in the second outing.

During the interview the actor also asked the audience to decide whether Holmes is "a very butch homosexual".

But Downey, Jr.`s comments have infuriated Andrea Plunket, who controls the remaining US copyrights to the Holmes stories, and she`s threatened to withdraw permission for a follow-up if Ritchie suggests the detective is more than just friends with his sidekick.

"I hope this is just an example of Mr. Downey`s black sense of humour. It would be drastic, but I would withdraw permission for more films to be made if they feel that is a theme they wish to bring out in the future. I am not hostile to homosexuals, but I am to anyone who is not true to the spirit of the books," she said.
